How to Remove Mold From Your Roof

Step 1: Prep!

Cleaning mold from your residential roof in Tampa Florida can be tedious, so dress appropriately. Wear comfortable clothes and safety gear. Use a safety rope or harness when going to the roof’s peak. Cover your valuables with newspaper or plastic sheeting. When using a ladder, be sure to secure the area first. Check the hose and start climbing.

Step 2: Spray the roof with water.

Spray all the affected areas with water. Always work from top to bottom.

Step 3: Scrub shingles.

Scrub shingles using a scrub brush or a long-handle soft-bristle brush. Gently scrape or pluck moss from the roof shingles.

Step 4: Apply a moss remover solution.

As much as possible, do not use products that contain toxic chemicals. There are now organic moss remover solutions available in the market.

Apply the moss remover solution using a spray bottle and let it sit for 30 minutes.

Step 5: Rinse!

Rinse off the solution using a hose. Using a power hose should make this a lot easier. Remove remaining moss with a brush and rinse the roof again.
