Here’s an overview of our commercial roofing options:
Tar-and-Gravel
Also known as BUR or built-up roofing, tar-and-gravel roofing is the oldest kind of commercial roofing and remains an effective solution for roofs that require resistance against wind and high foot traffic.
The built-up layers of bitumen and adhesive are traditionally topped with gravel that acts both as ballast and protection against heat from the sun. We use advanced materials that reduce environmental impact without compromising performance.
Modified Bitumen
Modified bitumen is a version of traditional tar-and-gravel roofing system that uses a cap sheet instead of gravel as the top layer. Like tar-and-gravel roofing systems, modified bitumen is ideal for high-traffic roofs, can withstand impact and sharp objects and can be easily repaired. Installation is simpler, as it will only require two layers on top of the substrate to be completed.
Metal
While often used in residential applications, metal works equally well with commercial roofing. It works on any slope, withstands strong winds, and, with proper maintenance, can last up to 75 years. Coatings that add cool roofing properties can also be added to metal roofs, which can reduce the amount of heat absorbed by it. This lessens the building’s air conditioning requirements.
EPDM and TPO Roofing Membranes
Ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) and thermoplastic olefin (TPO) are membranous roofing materials installed as a single layer. In addition to their short installation time, properly-installed EPDM and TPO can endure the elements and can be swiftly repaired. EPDM and TPO can be made with built-in cool roofing properties straight from the factory as they’re made of plastic. Note, though, as a single-layer roofing material, not all EPDM and TPO products can weather high foot traffic.
